It was still busy with most of the tables occupied. A waitress cleaned off a table for us as soon as we got there around 1400. While it looked like there might be indoor seating we sat outside at a table overlooking the marina. Parking can be found in front of the restaurant as well as across the street. The restaurant is located along the river adjacent to a marina. We ate at Fish Tales for lunch after visiting nearby Fort McAllister State Park. We will be returning to try a few more items on the menu Well I am glad I asked because that plum sauce in combination with the crab cake was divine. I asked the waitress if there was any sauce she could offer so she told us about their special plum sauce. I tried the crab cake sandwich which was delicious but they don't add any sauce to the sandwich which made it kinda dry and hard to swallow. My friend had Shrimp and Grits which according to her was outstanding. Our kids had fish fingers which were so good that there wasn't even a crumb left on their plates. I highly recommend the She Crab Soup which was off the chain. Food is fresh, cooked to perfection and reasonably priced. Over the course of the past three tears we've tried countless restaurants in this area including a fair share of seafood places. Stewart so I suppose you could call us locals to an extend. By the way.We are a military family, stationed at Ft. We had a wonderful waitress and the total experience outweighed the negative.and we will be back. My companion really enjoyed his McAllister Platter and everything with it. The downside of that was that the seafood au gratin tasted fabulous while it was hot, but with the cool breeze and taking a few minutes for my salad, when I got back to the entree it lost the flavors I had originally tasted and got cold and lumpy, so I didn't get to enjoy as much of it as I had wanted. I wanted to eat my salad so put aside my seafood au gratin for a few minutes for that purpose. Unfortunately our entrees came out before the salad so that was kind of a "miss". He also ordered a salad as one side and garlic mashed potatoes as the other. Since there were only two of us we had quite a wait for an outdoor table but enjoyed the breeze and view so it didn't bother us much. We love the water and ambiance of the Intracoastal Waterway and Fish Tales has both. We drove from Savannah, for some reason having never been here before, and it was worth the drive. ![]()
